What’s The Role About:
Puffco is seeking an Insights Manager to lead custom quantitative and qualitative research initiatives, driving deep understanding of our customers. This role will play a critical part in shaping actionable insights and collaborating with department leaders to translate findings into testable strategies that foster business growth. By leveraging strong business acumen, the Customer Insights Manager will ensure our products, services, and marketing efforts are closely aligned with evolving customer needs and market trends. This position is integral to embedding customer-centric thinking throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Design and Execution
- Design, manage, and execute primary quantitative and qualitative research.
- Lead vendor selection, vetting, and management for research needs.
- Designing and building surveys via survey platforms like Survey Monkey.
- Building a true, unbiased NPS program with metrics that are monitored at the executive level.
Data Collaboration and Analysis
- Collaborate with other consumer data owners (e.g., analytics, mobile app, e-commerce, retail) to optimize data collection and ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct journey mapping, tying qualitative and quantitative data together into a cohesive understanding of how each ICP/persona engages with cannabis, our brand, and our products.
- Stay current with trends and advancements in market research, data analytics, and customer behavior.
Strategic Insights and Recommendations
- Contribute to product development and marketing strategies by providing customer-centric recommendations.
- Assist in building an understanding of how cannabis industry trends correlate to the company’s existing and potential customer base.
- Build consumer feedback loops across brand touchpoints that feed into strategy development and KPI monitoring.
Planning and Reporting
- Lead in the development and execution of the insights plan and budget (i.e., budget, timeline, project management, reporting).
- Prepare clear, concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Skills:
- Strong skills needed in framing business and research questions, methodological choice, research execution oversight, and final delivery of insights and business recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data to develop clear and concise communication of insights that compel action; strong skills needed in strategy development, storytelling, and data visualization
- Demonstrated expertise in survey architecture and writing.
- Experience in ethnographic research a plus
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in consumer insights/market research or similar consulting role
- Supplier-side work in consumer products/durables preferred
- Experience developing and implementing the strategic priorities for a brand or category.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a research budget.
- Experience in emerging industries with limited reliance on secondary sources of data is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- LA hybrid based role
- In-office 2 to 3-days per week
- The ability to travel as needed for research needs and learning opportunities
The expected annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $135,000. Individual compensation is determined based on experience and skillset.
