Hours: Full time or Part time

Salary: £99,532 - £131,964 per annum

Requirements:

• Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Histopathology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
• Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
• FRCPath (part 1 and part 2).

About the Role:

The Consultant Histopathologist will join a dynamic team at a well-established hospital, providing expert diagnostic services in histopathology. The role involves interpreting a wide range of clinical samples, contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, and participating in the training and development of junior medical staff.

The Hospital, located in Swindon, is a leading healthcare establishment offering world-class medical services. The hospital has been open for over 20 years and became a Foundation Trust in 2008, employing around 5,000 staff across acute and community settings. The hospital has 480 inpatient beds and serves a catchment population of approximately 340,000.

About the Department:

The Cellular Pathology department at The Hospital provides comprehensive laboratory and clinical services, including histology, non-gynae cytology, and andrology. The department processes over 22,000 histology requests annually and is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)2. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic services and supporting clinical colleagues in patient care.
