Job Overview

Pulse is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic Adult Community team in Bedfordshire. This role is ideal for a Band 6 or 7 therapist with experience in dysphagia management, looking to make a tangible impact within the community setting.

You will be supporting a service with a growing waiting list and will play a vital role in the assessment and treatment of adults with swallowing and communication difficulties across North, Mid, and South Bedfordshire. Flexibility is available, and there is scope to arrange your caseload to include outpatient clinic work based on your preferences and availability.

A car driver is ideally required due to the community-based nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in the community.

  • Deliver high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and intervention in line with best practice and service protocols.

  • Support patients in clinic and/or community settings, depending on service need and therapist preference.

  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals, carers, and family members.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary care planning.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration.

  • Previous experience working with adults with dysphagia in community or outpatient settings.

  • Strong time management and communication skills.

  • A car and valid driving licence (preferred, not essential).
