Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist – Specialist Autism School (Temp to Perm)

Location: Middlesex

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Full-time (flexible options may be considered)

Start Date: ASAP

An outstanding specialist school is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their team, supporting autistic children and young people aged 4½ to 22. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a rewarding role with the potential to transition from a temporary contract into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored to children and young people with autism.

  • Conduct functional and sensory assessments to inform individualised therapy plans.

  • Provide one-to-one and group sessions to support fine motor, gross motor, and functional independence skills.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines.

  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and engagement both in school and the wider community.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Experience working with autistic children and young people.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a supportive and therapeutic manner.

  • Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for students.
