Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join a mainstream secondary school in Wanstead, East London.

This role involves supporting students within a mainstream educational setting, helping them to develop their speech, language, and communication skills to enhance their academic progress and overall wellbeing.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist looking for a flexible, part-time position. You will play a key role in assessing students’ needs and delivering targeted interventions within a school environment.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Carry out speech and language assessments for secondary school students.

  • Plan and deliver targeted therapy programmes and group interventions.

  • Provide direct therapy to students with identified speech, language, and communication needs.

  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support students’ communication development.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.


Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • Experience working with paediatric populations, ideally within a school setting.

  • Strong assessment and intervention planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
