Working Hours: Part-time (flexible – ideally full-time, but 3–4 days considered)


Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join an inpatient neuro rehabilitation service in Cambridgeshire for an immediate start.

This is a private locum opportunity based within a well-established rehabilitation team, supporting adults with complex neurological conditions. The caseload is primarily made up of patients with stroke and acquired brain injury (ABI), offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to intensive rehabilitation and recovery.

The role is available on a contract basis until the end of June, with flexibility around working patterns, including full-time or part-time hours (3–4 days per week or long days).


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Work with patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and acquired brain injury (ABI).
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions as part of an inpatient neuro rehabilitation programme.
  • Manage dysphagia and provide appropriate recommendations for safe swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Proven experience working with adult neuro rehabilitation caseloads.
  • Dysphagia competency.
  • Strong multidisciplinary team working skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
