Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join the acute team at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. This role focuses on adult patients with communication and swallowing needs, providing face-to-face therapy on the wards.
The position is ideal for therapists with acute dysphagia experience who are looking to work in a dynamic hospital environment. This role offers exposure to a variety of adult patients and conditions, supporting skill development in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide specialist assessment and treatment for dysphagia.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to support patient recovery and independence.
- Work face-to-face with patients across acute wards.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute dysphagia management and competencies appropriate for Band 6.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in an acute hospital environment.
