Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8A Clinical Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Bedford Hospital, part of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services within an acute hospital setting, supporting safe, effective, and patient‑centred medicines use.

 

The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient areas, contributing to medicines optimisation, clinical governance, and service development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services across designated wards.
  • Provide expert advice on complex medicines management and prescribing decisions.
  • Support medicines optimisation and patient safety initiatives.
  • Contribute to audit, service development, and clinical governance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with MDTs to improve patient outcomes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Extensive NHS hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at Band 8A level or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision‑making skills.
  • Experience supporting junior staff and contributing to service improvement.
