Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join an established pharmacy team in Kent. This role is primarily ward-based, supporting medicines management and ensuring safe and effective patient care through accurate medicines reconciliation, auditing, and patient engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams, playing a key role in optimising medicines use across inpatient services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake medicines reconciliation for patients on hospital wards.
  • Perform accuracy checking of documentation and prescriptions.
  • Carry out controlled drug (CD) audits to ensure compliance.
  • Provide patient counselling to support safe medicines use and discharge.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy and ward teams to maintain high standards of care.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Experience undertaking medicines reconciliation in a hospital setting (essential).
  • Previous NHS hospital ward experience preferred.
  • ACPT qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
