Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking experienced Band 7 Specialist Pharmacists to join the Older Persons Medicine team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. With multiple positions available, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a highly regarded NHS trust, delivering patient-centred care to an ageing population while supporting service development and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and develop clinical pharmacy services for older persons’ medicine
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care
  • Support medicines optimisation and improve outcomes for elderly patients
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the Trust
  • Contribute to clinical governance, risk management, and service improvement initiatives
  • Support education and training within the department

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Experience working at Band 7 level or equivalent in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in older persons’ medicine or general medicine (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and clinical governance
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
