Job Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join an Adult Community Neuro service in London. This is an excellent locum opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 clinician with experience in neurological rehabilitation who is passionate about supporting adults with communication and swallowing difficulties to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Working within a multidisciplinary community team, you will assess, diagnose, and manage adults with a range of neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other progressive neurological disorders. You will play a key role in delivering person-centred interventions that support communication, independence, and quality of life within the community setting.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Assess, diagnose, and treat adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders associated with neurological conditions.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
• Manage a caseload of patients with complex neurological presentations within community settings.
• Provide specialist advice and support to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HCPC and RCSLT standards.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy services.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• Current HCPC registration.
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) or eligibility to join.
• Previous experience working with adults in a neurological rehabilitation setting.
• Experience assessing and managing communication and/or dysphagia difficulties.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
