Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled pharmacist with extensive hospital and oncology experience to provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients within a leading healthcare setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services for oncology and haematology patients.
  • Undertake clinical screening and verification of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions.
  • Support the safe and effective use of cancer medicines in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment pathways and patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and medicines optimisation initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, including oncology and haematology services.
  • Competent in the clinical screening and verification of SACT prescriptions.
  • Strong knowledge of cancer treatments, chemotherapy protocols, and supportive care medicines.
  • BOPA Passport desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
