Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 8a Outpatient Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled pharmacist to lead and support outpatient pharmacy services within a busy NHS hospital environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of outpatient pharmaceutical care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the outpatient dispensing service.
- Support the safe and effective delivery of the outpatient pharmacy service.
- Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure accurate clinical screening and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Contribute to medicines optimisation and patient counselling initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Support service development, quality improvement projects, and clinical governance activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Have previous NHS outpatient pharmacy experience, which is essential.
- Demonstrate strong clinical and dispensing knowledge within a hospital setting.
- Be confident in providing patient-facing pharmaceutical care and counselling.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
