X Content Writer
About the Role
Pump.co is hiring its first X Content Writer (Onsite in SF, Monday-Friday) to take the lead on our brand voice across X, LinkedIn, and the platforms that matter most to founders, engineers, and operators.
This isn’t a generic social role. We’re looking for a prolific, sharp writer who lives online, understands how tech culture moves, and has built a strong personal presence. You’ll turn product updates, founder POVs, and startup ideas into highly shareable content — and help define how the world sees Pump.
This is a high-impact, creative, and strategic role reporting directly to the founders.
Responsibilities:
- At least 20,000 followers on X. You’ve built an audience by writing consistently high-quality content
- 2–5 years experience in content or social marketing (at a tech startup, creator brand, newsletter, or media org)
- Excellent writing skills — short-form, long-form, and everything in between
- Deep understanding of tech/startup X and how ideas travel online
- Confident turning founder thoughts and product news into polished, high-performing posts
- Familiar with tools like Figma, Canva, Notion, or social schedulers (but you don’t rely on them to write)
- Self-motivated, fast-moving, and highly organized — you take a blank doc and ship consistently
- Bonus: You’ve ghostwritten for a founder or built a recognizable content brand
- Bonus: You’re comfortable jumping into DMs, replies, and live engagement
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in a B2B SaaS or tech startup environment.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and manage brand channels—especially on LinkedIn and Twitter/X.
- Strong creative instincts and hands-on skills in graphic design, copywriting, and video editing.
- Data-driven mindset: confident using analytics tools to guide and optimize your strategy.
- Up-to-date on internet culture, tech/startup trends, and social media best practices.
- You love memes and long-form storytelling—you know how to make both work for brand-building.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-starter attitude—you can own and execute a vision without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- Bonus: Experience working in a distributed or global team.
