Social Media Manager

San Francisco, CA

About the Role

As Pump's first Social Media Manager, you’ll take full ownership of Pump’s presence across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and emerging platforms. You’ll be responsible for crafting and executing a content strategy that builds trust, drives engagement, and amplifies our mission in the tech and startup ecosystems. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you’ll collaborate closely with leadership, product marketing, and GTM teams to shape Pump’s voice in the world.

Responsibilities:

  •
  • Develop and execute a full-funnel social media strategy for Pump, focused on reach, engagement, and community growth.
  • Own day-to-day content creation across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and other relevant platforms.
  • Write, design, and post compelling content—from memes and threads to videos, carousels, and deep-dive posts.
  • Drive awareness of our product updates, company milestones, founder insights, customer stories, and relevant industry news.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs like impressions, engagement rates, follower growth, and conversion to site traffic or leads.
  • Stay on top of startup/tech/AI/cloud trends and turn them into relevant content opportunities for Pump.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Growth, Product, and Support teams to amplify major launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Engage with our community—responding to comments, joining relevant threads, and sparking thoughtful conversations.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in a B2B SaaS or tech startup environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and manage brand channels—especially on LinkedIn and Twitter/X.
  • Strong creative instincts and hands-on skills in graphic design, copywriting, and video editing.
  • Data-driven mindset: confident using analytics tools to guide and optimize your strategy.
  • Up-to-date on internet culture, tech/startup trends, and social media best practices.
  • You love memes and long-form storytelling—you know how to make both work for brand-building.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-starter attitude—you can own and execute a vision without waiting for step-by-step direction.
  • Bonus: Experience working in a distributed or global team.

Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)

  • Competitive salary and equity as an early member of our marketing team.
  • Lunch and dinner at the office
  • Full benefits package, including premium healthcare coverage for you and unlimited PTO.
  • Continuous learning and professional development reimbursements.
  • Quarterly company-paid team retreats

Compensation
