Principal Security Architect

Lehi, UT

We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

As a Principal Security Architect, you’ll be a key player in our Global Information Security Office (GISO), where security isn’t just a checkbox—it’s a mindset. You’ll work alongside brilliant engineers, architects, and security professionals, helping shape the future of security architecture across on-prem and cloud environments.

This is not an “ivory tower” role. You won’t just be handing down security policies from above—you’ll be deep in the trenches, designing solutions, writing scripts, analyzing data, and influencing security outcomes across networking, cloud, and infrastructure. You’re someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment where security is a key enabler, not a roadblock.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can speak security fluently to engineers, architects, and executives alike—translating risk into action.
  • Loves data and can turn Splunk logs and security telemetry into meaningful security insights.
  • Knows network security inside and out, from traditional firewalls to cloud-native architectures.
  • Can automate security using Python, scripting their way out of manual processes.
  • Lives and breathes Linux security, knowing how to lock down, monitor, and defend systems at scale.
  • Doesn’t just design solutions—owns them and ensures they are built, deployed, and working as intended.

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

As a Principal Security Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and securing our on-premise and cloud networking environments while leveraging data-driven decision-making to strengthen our security posture. Your security engineering background and demonstrated experience designing solutions and owning the outcomes will be essential in driving impactful security initiatives.

This principal-level role requires deep expertise in network security (on-prem and cloud), Splunk data analytics, Python, and Linux. You will act as a generalist with some deep domain expertise, providing security guidance across multiple domains while shaping architecture, automation, and operational security at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING...

  • Architecting and implementing secure networking solutions for cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring scalable and resilient security designs.
  • Demonstrating ownership over security decisions, ensuring solutions are not only designed but also implemented effectively with measurable security improvements.
  • Leveraging data analytics (Splunk and other tools) to drive security decisions, detect anomalies, and improve threat visibility.
  • Developing security controls and reference architectures for hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on network security, IAM, and workload protection.
  • Automating security processes using Python and scripting to enhance security operations, compliance monitoring, and threat detection.
  • Hardening Linux-based environments, ensuring secure configurations, monitoring, and system integrity.
  • Leading threat modeling and risk assessments, proactively identifying security gaps and recommending remediation strategies.
  • Driving security incident response readiness, ensuring detection, response, and mitigation strategies are well-defined and effective.
  • Defining security standards and frameworks, ensuring alignment with best practices (NIST, CIS, CSA).
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, IT, and operations teams to integrate security seamlessly into architecture, infrastructure, and software development.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM...

  • 8+ years of experience in security engineering and architecture, with a strong background in designing and owning security solutions across infrastructure, cloud, and network security.
  • Proven experience designing secure networking architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and cloud-native security controls (VPCs, Security Groups, IAM, etc.).
  • Deep expertise in Splunk (or similar SIEM platforms) for log analysis, anomaly detection, and security operations.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Python for security automation, log parsing, and threat intelligence integration.
  • Linux security expertise, including system hardening, monitoring, and securing workloads.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IAM, networking, encryption, and compliance.
  • Broad security knowledge across networking, infrastructure, application security, and DevSecOps principles.
  • Strong ability to influence security best practices and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and business teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.).

BONUS POINTS FOR...

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or GCP Security Engineer.
  • Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes, service meshes).
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience securing data pipelines and analytics platforms.

If you have a passion for designing secure solutions, making data-driven security decisions, and owning the outcomes, we want to hear from you!

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
