Global Value Management is a multi-disciplined team who work with the largest Enterprises in the world to deliver transformative propositions which help our customers achieve better business outcomes. We need to work with our customers to help them understand and realize the operational benefits of the future state with Pure.

We are looking for an experienced consultant who has designed the IT Operating model transformation for complex infrastructure operations.  This role will serve as a vital resource for delivering proposals of Pure Storage’s capabilities matching with customers’ business objectives. By collaborating closely with Account AE’s, SEs, Services and the customer team you will elevate the demonstration of the tangible and strategic advantages of Pure’s solutions via the deliverables that we submit. 

The successful candidate is a true Practitioner and will be responsible for analyzing customer storage environments from an operational management standpoint, The ideal candidate will confidently lead discovery with customer operational peers to advocate for Pure’s technology, make quantifiable value based recommendations, and produce outstanding documentation and deliverables.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with customers leading them through a structured detailed discovery of their current state operating model to uncover current ways of working, pain points, challenges and requirements as it pertains to the delivery of world class storage operations.
  • Base your discovery assessments on industry best practice frameworks such as ITIL v3 / v4 with specific focus on Service Management processes including Service Level Management, Availability, Capacity & Performance, Service Continuity, Monitoring and Event, Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management
  • Produce detailed documentation from your discovery iterating and validating this with the customer to a point of clear articulation of the current mode of operation, the issues. Quantify the specific business impact these have on the current state along with the operational overhead associated with delivering,
  • Make insightful recommendations to the customer on how they will deliver these functions in the Future State leveraging Pure Storage’s technology. Work with the customer to define new Service Management workflows and co-create the Future State Operating Model. Quantify the benefits of transitioning to Pure and gain agreement with the customer.
  • Partner closely with Pure’s Professional Services and Account Teams to create a comprehensive service delivery model that details how customers will migrate from Current to Future State and receive ongoing Day 2 operational services. Participate in the positioning of this to the customer gaining their agreement to adopt.
  • Demonstrate to our customers that for every challenge they face today, with Pure’s technology and professional Services teams we can solve it. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • 10+ years experience managing and/or designing the operational service delivery model for large globally distributed on premise and cloud hosted storage environments for a globally recognized Enterprise brand.
  • Experience of working with multiple storage technologies specifically Dell, Hitachi, HPE, IBM, Infinidat, NetApp and VAST (and preferably Pure).
  • Detailed understanding of storage management platforms and the broader ecosystem of technologies required to deliver the IT operating model e.g., automation tools, service management, SIEM, SOAR, CMDB.
  • Understanding of data center and cloud technologies and their relationship to storage e.g., compute, networks, virtualization, security, containers and modern application development techniques.
  • You will be a qualified Practitioner in industry best practice frameworks such as ITILv3 / v4 and be able to demonstrate:
    • How incident management procedures will change and be simplified as a result of automation and/or XaaS offerings
    • How change management processes will be transformed and how non-disruptive changes can be automated and assigned into non-business critical change windows. Define how the CAB processes can be simplified and automated. Identify the business impact of improved, simplified and automated change processes
    • Define refined release management processes and identify the operational benefits of reduced requirement for business impacting release window usage
    • Define the As-Is to To-Be capacity management requirements as a result of automation and/or XaaS
    • Build a migration roadmap for integration to core service management platforms (e.g. Service Now) as new technology is migrated from test into production
    • Define and build the core content of the Operating Manual requirements and changes to enable service readiness into Operations.
  • Consultative skill set that enables you to foster trust with the customer paired with real life experience of performing their role that creates instant credibility.
  • Structured and logical approach to working with the ability to expertly craft an impactful and repeatable assessment structure to lead your customer through
  • Ability to write detailed content - summarizing customer content, value and the solution in Executive language
  • The ability to build sophisticated process maps that get into the detail of how functions are performed today and how they will be performed in the future

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence customer project stakeholders by showing them the benefit of the future with Pure. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers, services, account teams, architects and financial analysts. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building long-term relationships

 

 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:

$129,000 - $195,000 USD
