As a Forensics Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of tackling complex customer issues and architecting innovative software solutions to analyze and predict the health of thousands of distributed customer systems globally. Our team is the critical pillar of Fleet Reliability, resolving the most technical field issues, developing next-gen services for real-time predictive analysis of system behavior, and building software to proactively protect customers. This is an incredible opportunity for SRE-minded software engineers to dive deep into challenging problems, build impactful solutions, and shape the future of distributed systems reliability.

- Leading an investigation and the engineering solutions for emergent issues.
- Being empowered to pull engineers together as a team to fix customer problems.
- Acquiring a broad and deep understanding of Pure Storage's full software stack.
- Presenting complex product issues & solutions to engineering peers, as well as executives, representing our customer’s interests.
- Creating and maintaining services and tools to diagnose and protect the health of an ever growing fleet.
- Creating next generation analytics to monitor our fleet’s health and anticipate new problems.
- Representing Pure Storage Engineering in interactions with customers to enable million dollar deals.
- Participating in our on-call rotation to rapidly respond to product outages world-wide and help FlashBlade maintain and improve our world-class uptime.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
You already have a solid background in software development along with experience with linux, system administration, networking, and storage. A history of learning new technologies on the job indicates a strong fit for this role. Ideal candidates will come from Software Development background. In addition, you may identify with some of the following:
- Natural curiosity, obsessive attention to detail and innate troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze complex systems and describe in simplest terms
- Experience with Big Data production environments
- Ability to speak and write without offending unless intended
- 3-6+ years relevant work experience
- We speak python, C++, and linux. What are your languages?
