We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the development of our application and data recovery solutions, with a focus on disaster recovery, cyber recovery, and business continuity. In this collaborative role, you’ll shape product strategy, define technical requirements, and collaborate closely with customers and engineering and UX teams to deliver resilient, enterprise-grade solutions.
Product Strategy & Technical Validation
- Own and drive the product roadmap for enterprise application and data recovery, focusing on disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and business continuity.
- Define and validate product performance based on Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) across varied recovery scenarios.
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to optimize end-to-end recovery workflows across hybrid cloud, SaaS platforms, and security ecosystems.
- Translate complex customer use cases into actionable technical requirements and partner with cross-functional teams to influence feature design, prioritization, and execution.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback, field escalations, and enhancement requests into meaningful product improvements and roadmap initiatives.
Technical Enablement & Content Development
- Produce high-quality technical deliverables including product requirements documents (PRDs), architectural diagrams, best practices, reference architectures, white papers and recovery design patterns.
- Work with UX and engineering teams to deliver intuitive, user-centered experiences that simplify complex recovery operations.
- Act as a knowledgeable representative in internal and external forums, including webinars, customer briefings, industry events, and field enablement sessions.
- Deliver clear and impactful technical presentations and demos that communicate product capabilities to both technical and business stakeholders.
Dealing with Ambiguity
- Navigate high-stakes customer incidents with limited context, triage issues efficiently, delegate and drive resolution.
- Balance long-term product vision with rapid decision-making in dynamic threat and disaster landscapes.
Customer Engagement
- As a key responsibility, engage with enterprise IT, application owners, and infrastructure teams to understand recovery pain points and evolving needs.
- Build collaborative relationships with customer stakeholders, helping turn feedback into advocacy for your product.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
If you're a technically proficient product leader passionate about helping organizations recover from crises and maintain business continuity, we want to hear from you.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Proven experience in product management, solutions architecture, engineering, or technical pre-sales.
- Solid technical understanding of storage infrastructure in enterprise data centers, with the ability to engage deeply with engineering teams and translate technical topics into clear product direction.
- Skilled in systems thinking to assess the root causes of application downtime and data loss across compute, storage, virtualization, and networking layers.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly explain complex workflows and value propositions.
- Proven ability to present to both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority.
- Proactive, inquisitive, and eager to quickly learn new technologies.
- Innovative problem-solver with a passion for product simplification.
- Proficient in using AI tools to enhance productivity
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
Preferred (Not Required) Skills
- Familiarity with disaster recovery architectures, cyber recovery workflows, and application recovery across on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery software, snapshot/replication technologies, and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of recovery processes for critical workloads (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, VMware, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of ransomware defense and recovery techniques (e.g., immutable snapshots, air-gapped backups, rapid restore).
- Experience with cloud and hybrid recovery solutions, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and platforms like VMware SRM and Zerto.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
