About The Position  

The Marketing Director plays a key role in driving Purple’s business growth and elevating the firm’s external profile. This individual will lead and support the conception, development, and execution of strategic integrated marketing initiatives that strengthen Purple’s external profile through thought leadership, brand visibility, and innovative industry partnerships. This is a full-time position in Purple Strategies’ Alexandria, VA office.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns aligned with Purple’s overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Build a deep understanding of Purple’s offering to recommend and craft content that support pipeline development and lead-generation efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior firm leadership and colleagues across teams to ensure marketing efforts are supported by the right content, assets, and activation plans.
  • Develop and manage marketing content, website experiences, and data-driven features for Purple-owned channels including the company website, email newsletter, and social media – designed to surface Purple insights and convert visitors into qualified leads by capturing clear intent signals.
  • Oversee and manage a recurring marketing content calendar, ensuring consistent, high-quality publication across platforms, and develop small, high-value in-person and virtual events curated for a select, high-value audience. 
  • Develop new high-value engagement programs and content platforms that invite a curated group of high profile-contacts to engage directly with Purple’s ideas and expertise.
  • Stay connected to lead generation initiatives to ensure alignment with content creation and marketing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and modernize workflows through AI enabled tools and HubSpot CRM.
  • Regularly monitor competitor marketing activities and provide regular insights and reporting.   
  • Track and analyze content performance data from social media and other channels to evaluate effectiveness and prepare regular updates.
  • Manage relationships with high-value media and industry partners (e.g., leading political and business publications) as well as tactical vendors (AEO, search, earned media placement, etc.) to plan and execute marketing campaigns and sponsorship events. 
  • Create demand for Purple leaders to speak on conference panels and be quoted in high-level media coverage, working both independently and through outside PR/communications agencies.
  • Partner directly with Purple’s subject-matter experts to identify and develop original thought leadership reports and other flagship content.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within a professional services environment.  
  • Proven success leading integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, newsletters, content and events in alignment with business growth and reputation objectives.  
  • Hands on experience with CRM systems, with preference for HubSpot, to support firmwide accountability for marketing intent signals.  
  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to develop compelling content. 
  • Forward thinking and innovative with demonstrated success adopting and implementing new tools – including AI-powered platforms spanning CRM (HubSpot), design (e.g., Claude, Figma, Canva), and development (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Replit, Vercel) – as well as workflow automation and similar.
  • A proactive and resourceful self-starter energized by autonomy and taking initiative without waiting for instruction.  
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly synthesize information, juggle multiple priorities, and manage time effectively. 
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to build productive relationships at all levels of an organization. 
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment and the confidence to take initiative and act decisively. 
  • Experience managing and collaborating with external agencies and partners, including budgeting, contracting and performance oversight. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Work Location     

This is a full-time position based in our Alexandria, VA headquarters.  Purple Strategies offers a hybrid model and seeks employees who are comfortable working in the office three days a week.
