About the Role

Pursuit is hiring a Data & Systems Manager to help shape how we use data and build infrastructure as an AI-native organization. This is a proactive, high-ownership role: you won't just keep systems running, you'll help define the data and governance foundation Pursuit needs to function as an AI Native org. You'll partner closely with our Head of AI Strategy & Transformation to turn messy, cross-functional problems into systems that scale — architecting how our CRM, data dictionary, and internal tools connect and grow as both people and AI depend on them. This role is ideal for someone with an early-to-mid-career data background who wants to help build the infrastructure layer of an AI-native organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Pursuit's data infrastructure end-to-end — the semantic layer, data dictionary, and internal tools that make program outcomes, partner ecosystem, and network data usable across teams
• Turn data into insight and action: build reporting, dashboards, and agentic capabilities that don't just show teams and leadership what happened, but help them decide what to do next
• Enable teams to self-serve outcomes data — improve data availability, accuracy, completeness, and structure across systems so all Pursuit staff can pull the metrics they need to run the business without hitting a bottleneck
• Partner with program, fundraising, and operations teams to design data structures (fields, statuses, pipelines) that actually reflect how they work
• Shape data governance for an AI-native org — help define the standards, permissions, and structure that let AI agents, not just people, use Pursuit's data reliably
• Pilot and evaluate new AI tools and workflows as they intersect with data and systems
• Act as Pursuit's systems integrator: architect how our SaaS vendors and internal tools connect, and administer access, permissions, and workflows across them

About You

• 3–5 years of experience working with data — analytics, data operations, business intelligence or similar
• Strong technical foundations (SQL, spreadsheets/Excel, CRM systems like Salesforce) and excitement about working hands-on with AI tools — building custom Skills, using coding agents like Claude Code, working in GitHub — with eagerness to continue building new skills as AI evolves
• A builder's mindset — you'd rather design a system that solves the problem for good than patch it every time it comes up
• A track record of owning data completeness and accuracy at scale, with high standards and attention to detail
• Experience managing cross-functional projects, including partnering with non-technical stakeholders to translate their needs into systems
• Comfortable managing up and communicating clearly with leadership

Salary:

The expected salary range for this role is $110-130k base.
