Accounting Manager
About The Role
As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role within our global accounting team, lead group financial reporting, audit and core NZ accounting operations. You’ll ensure accuracy and efficiency in our month-end close processes, drive continuous improvement through technology and AI, and foster a high-performing team culture.
We’re looking for an experienced Accounting leader (ideally with a Big 4 background) who can balance technical expertise with people leadership—someone who thrives in the details but also sees the bigger picture.
Supervisory responsibilities: 1–6 direct reports
What You’ll Do
- Group External Financial Reporting: Lead external audits & Group consolidation
- Compliance & Reporting: Perform 1st layer of detailed review of all internal and external reporting ensure adherence to financial regulations and prepare timely, accurate reports for stakeholders.
- Core Accounting Operations: Manage Month-end close, review balance sheet reconciliation, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
- Team Leadership: Coach and develop the NZ Accounting team, building a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Process Improvement: Drive improvements to financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
You are a CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years of post qualification experience at a senior level. You will have a strong technical background and in depth understanding of NZ IFRS, Group financial reporting, Group consolidation, and management accounting, financial systems and audit. Experience managing international tax such as Transfer Pricing and R&D Tax Credit and treasury would be beneficial but not essential.
You are autonomous, driven and self-directed with a track-record of delivering multiple workstreams to deadline. You show initiative and innovation and have the ability to solve complex issues with sound judgement. Excellent interpersonal skills will help you engage across multiple teams and partner well at a senior level.
