Data Science Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Data Science Manager to lead our team in developing cutting-edge data science solutions and Gen AI based solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analyzing large, multidimensional datasets, experimenting with the latest data science technologies, and driving innovative, data-driven strategies. You will work in a collaborative environment, guiding a team of data scientists and engineers to solve complex business problems, particularly in the healthcare domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering professional growth and productivity.
  • Data Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data science strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and deploy advanced data science algorithms to tackle complex challenges.
  • Model Development: Expertly handle all phases of model development including EDA, hypothesis testing, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, data cleaning, model training, selection, validation, and deployment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate data insights effectively.
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation by exploring emerging data science technologies and trends, including generative AI applications.
  • Healthcare Data Analysis: Analyze structured and unstructured healthcare data to generate actionable insights and develop new use cases.
  • Cloud Platform Utilization: Build scalable data solutions using cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (Python or R).
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Redshift, MongoDB).
  • Experience with cloud platforms and tools such as AWS, Azure, Athena, and Sagemaker.
  • Familiarity with big data processing technologies like Spark and MapReduce.
  • Competence in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, and d3.js.
  • Experience with NLP, sentiment analysis, and text mining is advantageous.

Profile Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in data science, focusing on algorithm development and implementation.
  • Healthcare Domain Expertise: Experience handling healthcare data (Claims, Trials, RWE) is preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of data scientists.
  • Technical Adaptability: Ability to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong mathematical foundation and understanding of statistical and machine learning methods, such as logistic regression, SVM, decision trees, random forests, neural networks, and classical optimization techniques.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Proven ability to build and deploy scalable solutions using cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Generative AI Knowledge: Deep understanding of generative AI applications and its potential for driving business value.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends.
