Partner, Market Access (Putnam Evidence Group)
Position Overview
In the role of Partner, Market Access – Putnam Evidence, you will be responsible for developing trusted-advisor client relationships, developing evidence strategy and evidence generation project-based business, and providing executive leadership and oversight to teams delivering project work to our biopharma, life sciences, and healthcare organization clients. This role will ensure the delivery of high-quality evidence solutions tailored to the needs of US payers, providers, and healthcare decision-makers. Reporting to the VPA Practice Lead and Head of Evidence, the Partner will be a senior leader within the Evidence Group, sitting on the leadership team, and contributing to the strategic direction and operational execution of a global team specializing in scientific evidence generation, market access, and HTA-related initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of US payer and provider evidence needs, with expertise in generating and applying real-world evidence (RWE) and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) to support product value proposition development, inform market access decisions, and support affordable patient access to our client’s healthcare innovations. This leader will drive impactful client relationships, oversee complex project execution, and collaborate closely with internal teams, including Health Economic Modeling, RWE, Biostatistics, and Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) and Preference Elicitation, to provide integrated evidence solutions.
In this role, you will also collaborate with leaders in Putnam’s Medical and Scientific Affairs and Data and Analytics practices, as well as broader Inizio teams and experts, to cultivate client relationships and develop and apply holistic solutions to addressing their needs.
A strong track record of thought leadership, client engagement, and business development in the US market access and evidence generation space is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Lead business development efforts, expanding relationships with US-based biopharma, life sciences, and healthcare organizations.
- Drive the development of tailored evidence strategies that align with US payer and provider requirements, ensuring optimal client support in market access and reimbursement efforts.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of proposals, pitch presentations, and project negotiations, ensuring engagements are aligned with client needs and financial objectives.
- Enhance Putnam’s reputation as a thought leader in US evidence generation, market access, and HTA by participating in industry forums, conferences, white papers, and panels.
Strategic Leadership & Team Oversight
- Provide executive leadership to the US-based Evidence team, ensuring high-quality delivery of projects across diverse evidence generation and market access domains.
- Sit on the Evidence Group leadership team, contributing to the broader strategy within Putnam’s Value, Pricing, and Access (VPA) practice, while collaborating with other Putnam practice areas (Commercial Strategy, Medical and Scientific Affairs Strategy, Data and Analytics strategy).
- Manage team resources, budgets, and timelines, ensuring operational efficiency and excellence in client service.
Evidence Generation & US Payer/Provider Strategy
- Oversee the development of evidence strategies tailored to the US market, focusing on payer and provider decision-making needs.
- Provide strategic leadership on RWE, HEOR, economic modeling, and HTA evidence to support US reimbursement and market access objectives.
- Ensure high-quality execution of literature reviews, value communications, and evidence synthesis to meet payer and provider requirements.
- Serve as a key client interface, advising on evidence strategy and market access dynamics within the US healthcare system.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams
- Work closely with internal teams in Health Economic Modeling, RWE, Biostatistics, and PRO/Preference Elicitation to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based solutions.
- Drive innovation by integrating digital and AI-driven methodologies into evidence generation and analytics.
- Foster a collaborative culture that leverages expertise across Putnam’s practice areas and the broader Inizio ecosystem.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, or BSc with extensive experience) in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in HEOR, RWE, market access, or a related discipline with a strong focus on US payers and providers.
- Demonstrated expertise in US evidence generation strategies, payer/provider engagement, and HTA processes.
- Proven track record in business development, key account management, and growing consulting capabilities in evidence generation and market access.
- Strong technical expertise in HEOR methodologies, economic modeling, burden of disease research, and cost-effectiveness evaluations within the US market.
- Experience in managing large, cross-functional teams and delivering high-impact, client-facing projects.
- Active participation in industry thought leadership, including conference speaking roles, white papers, and policy discussions.
