Summer Biostatistician, Real World Evidence Internship Program 

Position Overview 

Putnam is looking to hire an intern to join our team. You will work with an international team of biostatisticians, and under the conduct of an experienced analyst, the intern would be using large scale medical claims databases to describe prevalence of a specific disease, treatment pattern and survival. The intern will be able to conduct every step of the analysis, from definition of the diseases and selected drugs to data management and analysis. 

 The program will run for ~3 months starting around June (exact start and end date flexible based on student schedule). All interns are eligible for a return full-time offer based on performance.  

Responsibilities include, within a specific research topic but are not limited to: 

• Support the preparation and execution of analytical activities (e.g. ITC-related analyses, depending on the project scope), including data review and quality checks 

• Assist in basic biostatistical analyses under the guidance of senior team members (e.g. descriptive statistics, data summaries) 

• Contribute to literature reviews and secondary research related to clinical, epidemiological, or outcomes data 

• Help analyze and interpret clinical and real-world data to support client deliverables 

• Collaborate with the project team in the preparation of tables, figures, and client presentations 

Desired Skills and Experience

• Last year of Higher degree with a large statistical component (MMath/MSc/Engineer school) 

• Experience with statistical programming packages, particularly Python, R and SAS 

• Interest in biomedical statistics  

• Tenacity and patience, to see research projects through from proposal to completion 

• Good time management and organisational skills 

Please note this is not a summer program for PhDs and MBAs at this time.
