PVM, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with customers to understand their most pressing challenges and develop innovative, data-driven solutions. Our customers rely on PVM’s expertise and cutting-edge technology to support critical operations, whether addressing operational inefficiencies, enhancing security, or optimizing decision-making processes.
As an FDSE at PVM, you will take ownership of complex projects, collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to build and deploy impactful solutions. Your responsibilities will range from designing scalable architectures and wrangling large datasets to developing custom applications and interfacing directly with customers to refine their workflows. Whether solving real-world problems in national security, public health, or enterprise operations, your work will drive meaningful change.

Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand their most pressing challenges and develop innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to build and deploy impactful software solutions.
- Design scalable architectures and manage large datasets to support customer needs.
- Develop custom applications tailored to customer workflows and operational needs.
- Interface directly with customers to refine their workflows and optimize their processes.
- Contribute to solving complex, real-world problems across industries such as national security, public health, and enterprise operations.
- Bridge the gap between technology and mission success by applying problem-solving skills to ambiguous challenges.
- Take ownership of high-stakes projects, working autonomously to drive solutions and make impactful decisions.
- Continuously develop your technical skills by working with a wide range of technologies and collaborating with a highly skilled team.
- Foster innovation, autonomy, and collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Requirements
- Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
- Palantir Foundry and Gotham experience is highly desired
- Military/Special Operation/Law Enforcement experience.
Tools
- Strong engineering background, preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Data Science.
- A highly analytical mindset and eagerness to solve technical problems with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
- Experience or interest in working with and using large scale data to solve valuable business problems.
- Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
- Experience with programming, scripting or statistical packages (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, SQL) is a plus.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to break down, explain, and demonstrate complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
- Extraordinary ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
- Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, teach, lead and follow.
- Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time if needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
