Accounting Intern – Audit Support & Data Entry

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking an Accounting Co-op – Audit Support & Data Entry. You’ll gain practical experience with vendor and customer invoices, financial records, and the documentation that supports audits. 

In this role, you’ll verify information against source documents, enter and review data in accounting systems and customer portals, and help the team respond to audit requests. Your attention to detail and organization will help keep records accurate, complete, and easy to retrieve. 

The duration of this internship will be 1/11-4/28.

Location: Onsite in Cincinnati, OH for the Winter semester (January 2027 through April 2027) 
Clearance: All applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Review, verify, and match vendor invoices against purchase orders.  Input approved invoices into accounting system. 
  • Upload Customer invoices into client-based operating system 
  • Support audit activities by fulfilling auditor sample requests and documentation needs 
  • Enter, update, and validate financial data within accounting systems (internal company systems as well as external customer portals) to ensure accuracy and completeness 
  • Retrieve and compile supporting documentation (invoices, receipts, approvals, and system records) for audit requests 
  • Match financial transactions to source documents and maintain organized electronic filing of audit materials 
  • Track and log audit requests and responses to ensure timely completion and follow-up 
  • Perform  data checks to identify missing information or inconsistencies and escalate items to accounting staff 

 What We’re Looking For: 

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred 
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of data 
  • Careful attention to detail when entering information, matching documents, and checking for discrepancies 
  • Ability to stay organized and accurate while handling repetitive tasks 
  • Willingness to learn accounting systems and customer portals 
  • Clear communication and follow-through when tracking requests or raising questions with the accounting team

Full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications
