About Your Role
As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead our data analytics team and own the end-to-end data platform that powers reporting, self-service analytics, and data-driven decision making. You’ll set the technical strategy, manage and grow a high-performing team, and partner closely with business units to deliver trusted, timely, and actionable insights.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive Data Engineering Technical Efforts
- Own the data platform roadmap: ingestion, processing, modeling, governance, and analytics enablement
- Architect and scale ELT/ETL pipelines and streaming workloads; enforce SLAs for reliability, freshness, and cost efficiency
- Establish data modeling standards and semantic layers to enable self-service BI
- Drive Strong Data Engineering Processes
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize work, translate requirements into data products, and measure impact
- Drive best practices for version control, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and security/compliance
- Manage a Team of Data Engineers
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data and analytics engineers to deliver high-quality data products and meet team commitments
- Perform technical reviews and constructively coach team members
- Participate in recruiting processes to continue the growth goals of the company
- Lead Technical Improvement Efforts
- Implement data quality and observability, and drive root-cause analysis for any incidents
- Optimize warehouse performance and costs; manage capacity planning and vendor relationships
- Stay current with major architecture initiatives and advise on technical decisions
- Continually look for ways to improve our offerings and evaluate new technologies
Who You Are
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and upbeat personality
Experience You Bring
- 7+ years in data engineering/analytics engineering; 2+ years leading teams
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in computing, data engineering, or related field
- Solid understanding of distributed data processing and performance tuning
- Production experience with a modern data stack - for example:
- Cloud: AWS/GCP/Azure
- Warehouses: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.
- Orchestration & Transformation: Matillion, dbt, etc.
- Observability: data lineage/monitoring tools
- BI: Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- DevOps: Git, CI/CD, Terraform/CloudFormation
- Proven track record delivering reliable, well-modeled datasets that scale with business needs
- Strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and written/verbal communication skills
- Comfort balancing hands-on technical work with people leadership and strategy
