Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Roofing

ROLE OVERVIEW
QT Commercial is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support and grow into a leadership role overseeing commercial low-slope single-ply roofing projects (primarily TPO, EPDM, and PVC systems). This is a developmental position designed for someone with strong hands-on roofing experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility for crew leadership, safety, quality, and jobsite execution.
You will work closely with experienced Superintendent and Project Managers while progressively taking ownership of daily field operations on commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects across Minnesota. The goal is to develop you into a full Superintendent capable of independently managing projects safely, on schedule, and to QT’s quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and progressively lead field crews and subcontractors on low-slope single-ply roofing projects (new construction, re-roof, and repairs).
- Maintain a strong daily jobsite presence to oversee safety, quality, production, and progress.
- Enforce OSHA standards, company safety policies, and fall-protection requirements; stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
- Assist with planning and coordinating labor, materials, equipment, and deliveries to keep projects on track.
- Perform routine quality inspections and ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, project documents, and QT standards.
- Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents on scheduling, scope alignment, and problem-solving in the field.
- Complete accurate daily reports, job logs, photos, and documentation.
- Help train and mentor crew members; provide clear direction and feedback (Spanish language skills are highly valued for crew communication).
- Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, inspectors, and internal teams.
- Support final inspections, punch lists, and project close-out.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and workmanship.
- Perform other related duties as assigned while developing toward independent project leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3–5+ years of hands-on commercial roofing experience, with solid knowledge of low-slope single-ply systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC preferred).
- Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead, or similar crew leadership role.
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety, including fall protection and OSHA requirements (OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain promptly).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and manufacturer details.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel daily to job sites in the Minnesota market.
- Physical ability to work on roofs, climb ladders, lift 50+ lbs, and work outdoors in all Minnesota weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to grow into greater responsibility.
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – preferred.
- Experience managing or supporting multiple crews.
- Manufacturer certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with project documentation, daily reporting, and basic scheduling.

Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and location.
US Pay Range
$80,000 - $95,000 USD
