Facility Technician

The Facility Technician supports the safe, efficient, and organized operation of Quaise facilities by performing general maintenance, repairs, facility upkeep, and operational support activities. This role assists with maintaining building systems, equipment, grounds, and workspaces while helping ensure a clean, functional, and safety-focused environment for employees and operations.

- Performs general repairs and maintenance that do not require specialized licensing or certification. Examples may include maintaining facility buildings and ground, addressing plumbing issues, replacing lighting, and restocking inventory.
- Maintain buildings, grounds, and common work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Assist with plumbing, lighting replacement, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting, and other routine maintenance activities.
- Inspect facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Receive, prioritize, and respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors for repairs requiring specialized expertise.
- Support preventive maintenance activities for facility equipment and building systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of maintenance supplies, tools, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or hazards.
- Support facility setup, organization, and operational needs across various departments.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and facility safety initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and repair practices.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
- Ability to operate independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams.
- Willingness to learn through hands-on training and mentorship.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact well with customers and co-workers, in the field and the office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory responsibilities
- This role does not include formal people-management responsibilities.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift and/or crane certification preferred.
- Related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
Physical requirements
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch or crawl, as well as use hands to feel, reach, grasp, handle, or operate objects, tools and/or controls.
- The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, transfer, or move items up 50 pounds at times for departmental needs.
- Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms, while adhering to all safety procedures.
- Work safely around industrial equipment and tools while adhering to established safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to move from one worksite to another or light travel to various job sites and locations to complete tasks.
- Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
