Controller

Remote

Controller

About the Role

Qualified Digital (QD) is seeking a hands-on Controller to partner with the CFO in building the financial infrastructure required to support our next stage of growth. This is not a maintenance role; it is a build role.

We are evolving into a technology-forward finance organization grounded in automation, data integrity, and strong operational partnership. The Controller will play a critical role in shaping and leading this transformation, ensuring our accounting foundation is scalable and positioned to support both organic growth and future acquisition activity.

A key early initiative will be assisting in the evaluation and implementation of a new ERP/GL system. You will help assess, select, and implement the platform that will serve as the financial backbone for our continued growth.

Position type: Full time (US or Canada based).

Location: Remote

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Company Stage: Private Equity Backed | Scaling | Organic + M&A

Responsibilities

Transactional Excellence & Process Ownership

  • Own the Core Cycles: Manage the end-to-end "Order to Cash," "Procure to Pay," and "Record to Report" cycles. Ensure the transactional foundation is rock solid so analysts and leadership trust the data.

  • The Close: Execute a rigorous, timely monthly close process. We prioritize a "Forecast First" mindset, and a fast, accurate close is the prerequisite for forward-looking insights.

  • Audit & Tax Compliance: Manage all external audit and tax relationships. Ensure the company remains "Audit Ready" and compliant at all times.

  • 13 Week Cash Flow and Debt Compliance: Partner with the CFO to develop a weekly cadence of cash flow forecasting as well as monthly debt compliance reporting.

Systems Governance, Implementation & Data Integrity

  • ERP Selection & Implementation: Play a key role in evaluating, selecting, and implementing a new scalable ERP system. You will ensure the new system is configured to support multi-entity consolidation and automated reporting.

  • Systems of Record: Act as the guardian of the new ERP and its integration with CRM. You will enforce strict governance to ensure data accuracy—avoiding "shadow" Excel databases.

  • Automation: Work with the CFO to identify manual hand-offs and leverage automation/AI to fix root causes rather than solving the same problem twice.

  • Data Warehouse Partnership: Ensure the ERP data flowing into our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is accurate, serving as the trusted foundation for our modeling and reporting layers.

M&A Integration

  • Acquisition Onboarding: Lead the accounting integration for new acquisitions. We do not let acquired companies "drift"; you will lead the process of mapping and ingesting their data into our core systems immediately.

  • Technical Accounting: Manage purchase price allocation, opening balance sheets, and the consolidation of financial data.

  • Synergy Tracking: Partner with operations to track integration value capture and synergies in real-time.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of accounting experience with significant time spent in a Controller capacity.

  • Education: CPA required.

  • ERP Implementation: Proven experience leading or playing a significant role in a GL/ERP system migration or implementation. You understand the complexities of mapping data, testing environments, and managing the switch-over.

  • Tech Savvy: Strong preference for experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Certinia. You should be comfortable working in an environment that utilizes modern tools like Microsoft Fabric and PowerBI rather than relying solely on spreadsheets.

  • M&A Experience: Proven track record of integrating acquisitions, specifically regarding GL consolidation and process alignment.

Applicants who’d like to be considered for a full-time position must be US or Canada based.

The target range of base compensation for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Why Join?

  • Mentorship: Report to an operationally focused CFO with a history of 8 successful exits and a track record of mentoring Controllers into CFO roles.

  • Modern Stack: Work in a "spreadsheet-light" environment leveraging best-in-class technology.

  • Growth: Play a central role in a buy-and-build strategy, gaining deep experience in system architecture, M&A execution, and high-velocity scaling.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
