  • Own the end-to-end technical implementation of critical data infrastructure, from initial setup through production deployment and ongoing maintenance
  • Drive technical planning and architecture discussions with platform teams, defining and implementing data transformation patterns that balance scalability, reliability, and maintenance considerations
  • Provide hands-on technical oversight of ETL implementations, ensuring robust error handling, monitoring, and operational excellence
  • Develop, test, and deploy reusable ETL components and frameworks to accelerate development and ensure consistency across pipelines
  • Implement sophisticated data quality checks and monitoring solutions to ensure reliable data processing
  • Actively debug and optimize pipeline performance, solving complex data processing challenges in production environments
  • Provide authoritative guidance on healthcare data formats, ETL patterns, and data quality best practices to both internal teams and implementation partners
  • Mentor data engineers through direct collaboration on technical implementations while driving adoption of best practices
  • Partner with platform architects to resolve complex data integration challenges and ensure production reliability
  • Influence technical roadmap based on deep understanding of healthcare data processing needs and hands-on implementation experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with demonstrated expertise in healthcare data processing and ETL architecture
  • Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying production ETL pipelines using modern cloud technologies
  • Deep technical knowledge of healthcare data standards and formats (HL7v2, FHIR, CDA, X12)
  • Proven track record implementing enterprise data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Databricks) and their associated ETL patterns
  • Strong history of directly building and deploying complex ETL solutions in regulated environments
  • Demonstrated ability to both architect solutions and implement them hands-on at enterprise scale
  • Advanced software engineering capabilities with extensive experience in:
    • Modern programming languages (Python, Java, Scala)
    • Azure cloud platform and services (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)
    • Advanced SQL and data modeling
    • Distributed computing and data processing frameworks
    • CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex data architectures to varied audiences while documenting implementations thoroughly
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing data pipelines for AI/ML applications in healthcare
  • Deep expertise in Azure cloud services with hands-on implementation experience
  • Practical experience implementing HIPAA and HITRUST compliance requirements in data infrastructure
  • Track record building real-time data processing and streaming architectures
  • Relevant data engineering or cloud platform certifications
  • Master's degree in relevant field

Technical Environment:

Our data infrastructure is built on modern cloud technologies including:

  • Azure Cloud Platform (primary)
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Databricks
  • Snowflake
  • Python, Java, and Scala
  • Modern CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools

The role requires both deep expertise in these technologies and the ability to implement production-grade solutions using them.

Impact & Growth Opportunity:

As a Staff ETL Pipeline Engineer at Qualified Health, you'll play a crucial role in both building and evolving the data foundation that powers our AI platform's ability to deliver insights to major health systems. You'll have the opportunity to directly implement critical infrastructure while influencing our technical architecture and platform capabilities, working with cutting-edge technologies that improve healthcare delivery. This position offers significant visibility and growth potential as we scale our platform across the healthcare ecosystem.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive startup salary and equity packages.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.
  • An opportunity to be at the forefront of AI in healthcare, making substantial impacts on patient care and outcomes.
  • A vibrant and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
