Field Application Scientist, Channel Partners (Japan)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Application Scientist supporting our Asia Channel Partners to join our dynamic commercial team. As a Field Application Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting and training Quantum-Si’s channel partners with technical and product positioning support as well as serve as a backup field application scientist to support global sales. You will work closely with our Channel Partners and Commercial Leadership to support and advance our objectives in a fast-paced environment. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:  

  • Engage with channel partners and channel partner management on a regular basis to ensure they are well supported with technical and product information. 
  • Onboard and train channel partners to be able to sell and support Quantum-Si’s product portfolio, including product positioning and messaging as well as technical training and troubleshooting. 
  • Partner with marketing to support the generation and distribution of content to support channel partners in different regions.  
  • Partner with Channel Manager to lead regional channel partner meetings and user groups to drive commercial adoption.  
  • Visit with channel partner end users and support end user adoption through channel partner aimed programs that demonstrate improvements in trainings, seminars, and experimental planning to support the business growth in distribution regions.  
  • Support product demonstrations for channel partners.  
  • Work closely with the channel partner management and field enablement leadership team successfully demonstrating proper positioning of our products in pre-sales conversations and demonstrations.  
  • Work closely with channel partner management and field applications and services leadership team to support Quantum-Si’s demo process.  
  • Use Salesforce.com to monitor channel partner adoption success rates in placing instruments and driving run utilization. 
  • Work with Global Field Applications and Services team to ensure knowledge of common failure modes are documented and understood for in-field troubleshooting.  
  • Answer technical product and application inquiries from channel partners and their end users. 
  • Triage and escalate advanced questions and product issues through the proper internal channels for troubleshooting. 
  • Travel with channel partners to observe and provide feedback about conducting product presentations, demos, and trainings as needed.  
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

 

Qualifications 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 

  • BA, BS, or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.PhD preferred.  
  • Bi-lingual in English and Japanese.  Multi-lingual preferred. 
  • 3+ years as an international field application scientist. 
  • Preferred 2+ years working with channel partners or distributors for life science companies supporting instrumentation  
  • Knowledge of case management systems (preferably Salesforce).  
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).  
  • Solid understanding of scientific principles and proficiency in communicating scientific concepts.  
  • Familiarity with the operation and analysis of complex lab instrumentation. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented individual. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to achieve company goals and milestones.  
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking-abilities. 

  

Other Details 

  • This position is remote  
  • Successful candidate must live in Japan and must be close to an airport having good international connections (e.g. Seoul, Tokyo). 
  • This position will require both domestic and international travel and may account for 50% total time across the year depending on the needs of the business.
