Senior Product Manager

Branford, CT

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to serve as the commercial owner of Quantum-Si’s single-molecule protein sequencing platform, Proteus.The successful candidate will own and advocate for the Proteus platform and software throughout its entire lifecycle, serving as the voice of the customer in the development core team, leading go to market and subsequent market penetration. The role reports into the marketing organization and will work closely with market development, sales, service, and R&D.

 

 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

 

Product Definition and Requirements

  • The platform owner for the commercial organization specifies instrument, sequencing consumable, and software requirements for Quantum-Si’s single molecule protein sequencing platform.
  • Collaborates with product marketing, market development, and corporate development to align target applications and synthesize essential requirements, ensuring platform performance aligns with market demands.
  • Works closely with market development, sales, and service departments to identify market requirements and trends, developing business cases for product and feature implementation.
  • Partners with R&D to ensure optimal product-market fit by aligning commercial objectives for the platform and prioritizing features throughout the design and development process.

Product Pricing and Operations

  • Oversees the development of platform and service pricing strategies based on market demand, competitive landscape, and comprehensive cost analysis.
  • Establishes service pricing structures inclusive of instrument and cloud analysis, promoting utilization of the cloud-based analysis platform.
  • Maintains forecasts for platform and consumables, and consistently communicates supply and demand updates across sales and operations teams.

Product Positioning

  • Conducts market and competitive analyses for products and services to define compelling value propositions, marketing strategies, and messaging that distinguish Quantum-Si’s offerings.
  • Leads the creation of effective sales tools, including instructions for use, brochures, and technical notes, to empower the sales team and drive market adoption.
  • Develops and delivers commercial training focused on value proposition, positioning, and messaging to ensure the sales organization is confident and proficient.
  • Accompanies the sales team and participates in key industry conferences to establish subject matter expertise, assess customer needs, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for the product portfolio and marketing strategy.

Product Launch, Maintenance, and End of Life

  • Manages the platform lifecycle from inception to discontinuation, overseeing new product introductions, end-of-life procedures, and trade-in initiatives.
  • Champions new product introduction activities by developing launch roadmaps, deliverables, and coordinating go-to-market priorities among key stakeholders such as R&D, operations, field service, and sales.
  • Plans and implements beta testing to verify platform performance against customer requirements, maintains communication with beta sites, and synthesizes feedback for corrective actions with the development team.
  • Establishes metrics to evaluate product performance in the market, including user experience, adherence to specifications, and software functionality, and regularly communicates improvement priorities with sustaining teams.

 

 

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters or PhD degree preferred) in life sciences or engineering
  • 5+ years of product management experience for life science platform companies in proteomics, molecular biology or DNA sequencing markets.
  • Strong technical understanding of proteomic workflows
  • Previous sales experience preferred
  • Experience defining, launching, and maintaining life science platform solutions inclusive of instrument, reagents, and software.
  • Experience working with functional departments in sales, marketing, service, assay development, engineering, and software development.
  • Experience gathering customer/market feedback and effectively communicating technical user requirements for assay, software, and instrument product roadmap.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Thrives in a startup, rapidly growing, company environment. Can pivot when necessary and stay positive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, great computer skills.
  • Take initiative and have a strong growth mindset.
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Ideally, located in Branford, CT or in San Diego, CA.

 

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $130,000 - $195,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
