Software Developer - Quantum Controls
Summary
The individual in this dynamic role will be central to designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the pivotal software components of our quantum control stack. No prior experience in quantum computing is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain core software components of our quantum control stack.
- Collaborate closely with hardware physicists, embedded systems engineers, and cloud-facing API developers to integrate software with both off-the-shelf and custom control hardware.
- Optimize data processing techniques to improve efficiency and performance.
- Adhere to and promote high standards in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- This position is primarily focused on software engineering and involves consistent collaboration with our internal hardware and electronics engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of programming experience in a professional environment, through internships, co-op programs, or significant open source contributions.
- Excellent proficiency with Python.
- Hands-on experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Proficiency with standard software development toolchains and paradigms, including version control systems and continuous integration tools.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (ideally proficient in one or more of the following)
- Experience writing control software for hardware (e.g., robotics, scientific instruments, IoT).
- Experience with scientific data analysis
- Familiarity with modern C++ (C++11 and newer).
- Experience with asynchronous programming and threading models.
