当社は、日本におけるクエラコンピューティングのハードウェアエンジニアリングチームに加わる意欲的なサプライベースエンジニア(SBE)を募集しています。この役職は、日本における主要サプライヤーとの関係構築・管理を担当し、米国SBEチームと緊密に連携しながら、強固な品質システムの確保とサプライチェーン全体の継続的改善を推進します。理想的な候補者は、製品開発およびライフサイクル要件を支援するため、サプライヤー管理、製造プロセス、部門横断的な連携における豊富な経験を有していることが求められます。

職務と責任

サプライヤー開発と管理

  • 技術的、品質的、事業的要件を満たすサプライヤーの特定、選定、導入
  • 日本サプライヤーとのパートナーシップの構築・支援
  • エンジニアリングチームとサプライヤー間の主要な技術窓口として、仕様、製造可能性、スケジュールに関する調整の方向付け
  • エンジニアリングチームと3Dモデル、図面、組立手順書、試験手順書、試験報告書などを含むドキュメントパッケージが完全かつ最新であることの保証
  • KPI(品質、納期、コスト)を通じてサプライヤーのパフォーマンスの監視、必要に応じて是正措置の実施
  • サプライヤーのビジネスレビューの支援、継続的改善活動の推進

品質保証

  • 品質エンジニアとの連携、サプライヤーの品質基準、検査基準、監査計画の策定
  • 業界規制、安全基準、社内ポリシーに対してサプライヤーの遵守の確認
  • サプライヤー関連の問題に対する原因分析・是正措置の主導

リスクマネジメント

  • 米国SBE・SCMチームと高リスク部品の特定・管理
  • 米国SCMチームと重要部品にあるリスクの特定・管理・軽減
  • 代替部品の選定
  • 調達・購買チームとの連携、契約交渉の行い、総所有コストの最適化

組織横断共同

  • 新製品導入(NPI)期間中、サプライヤーの準備態勢を確保するため、クエラの内部関係者と緊密の連携
  • 設計変更指示書(ECO)のサポート、サプライヤー移行の管理・影響緩和
  • 問題解決時中、内部チームとサプライヤー間の連絡

応募資格

【必須条件】

  • 機械工学、産業工学、製造工学、または関連分野の学士号
  • 製造環境におけるサプライヤー品質管理、供給基盤エンジニアリング、または調達業務での6年以上の経験
  • 製造プロセス(機械加工、板金、光学組立、電子機器組立など)に関する深い知識
  • 品質管理ツール(PPAP、FMEA、SPC、8D、CAPA)の習熟
  • 優れたコミュニケーション能力、交渉力、問題解決能力
  • 国内外への出張対応能力(最大30%)
  • 英語能力ビジネス会話 (TOEIC 735-860)、日本語能力流暢(日本語能力試験1級又はN1)

【歓迎条件】

  • 光学システム、精密計測システム、高性能試験装置、または類似分野での実務経験
  • PLM/ERP/MRPシステムおよびサプライヤーパフォーマンスダッシュボードに関する実務知識

Supply Base Engineer - Japan

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Base Engineer (SBE) to join QuEra's Hardware Engineering team in Japan. This role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with key suppliers in Japan, working closely with the US SBE team to ensure robust quality systems and drive continuous improvement across the supply base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier management, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration to support product development and lifecycle requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Development & Management

  • Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers that meet technical, quality, and business requirements.
  • Develop and support partnerships with Japanese suppliers
  • Act as the primary technical interface between engineering teams and suppliers, ensuring alignment on specifications, manufacturability, and timelines.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure documentation packages are complete and up to date, including 3D models, drawings, assembly procedures, test procedures, test reports, etc.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (quality, delivery, cost) and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Compliance

  • Partner with Quality Engineer to establish supplier quality standards, inspection criteria, and audit plans.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for supplier-related issues.

Risk Management

  • Collaborate with the US SBE Team and Supply Chain Team to identify high risk items and develop mitigation plans
  • Identify acceptable alternate components
  • Help supply chain team identify and manage risks and develop mitigation plans for critical components.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and procurement teams to negotiate contracts and optimize total cost of ownership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with QuEra internal stakeholders to ensure supplier readiness during new product introduction (NPI).
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and manage supplier transitions with minimal impact to production.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and suppliers during issue resolution.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in supplier quality, supply base engineering, or sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, optical assembly, electronics assembly, etc.).
  • Proficiency with quality tools (PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, CAPA).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese

Preferred

  • Experience with optical systems, precision metrology systems, high performance test equipment, or similar
  • Working knowledge of PLM/ERP/MRP systems and supplier performance dashboards.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with lean manufacturing principles.
