Your Impact
Quickmed Diagnostic is seeking a Medical Billing Support Specialist to provide administrative support to our Billing Department. As a member of the Billing team, you will report to the Director of Billing. The ideal candidate has experience working in the medical industry.
This is a contract role of up to four months.
What You’ll Do
- Open, process, sort and distribute inbound billing group communications from patients and payers
- Answer incoming calls and respond appropriately per policy or queue for further case resolution
- Verify accuracy of insurance payments received and posted to the billing system in relation to support cases
- Analyze data to identify, diagnose, and resolve billing issues expeditiously
- Review necessary information in billing system in order to respond to patient questions
- Research accounts in the billing system as necessary to answer patient questions
- Refer complex accounts to management for further action
- Strict adherence to regulatory, operational, and legal compliance protocols
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 1 years experience working in medical billing, financial collections or another similar industry customer/patient support role
- Familiarity with medical billing operations
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Familiarity with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents, insurance plans and programs
- Ability to interact with people using tact and diplomacy in sometimes difficult interactions
- PC Skills: MS Word, Windows, and Excel required
- Excellent communication skills in person and on the telephone
