Overview 

We’re seeking a versatile IT Professional who brings a strong foundation across Cloud, Security, Networking, and Systems Administration. This is an ideal role for a technical generalist who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys solving wide range of IT problems, and wants to grow with a rapidly expanding deep-tech company.  

This is a hybrid position, meaning that you will need to live within easy driving distance to our Technology Center in Columbia, Maryland. 

What You’ll Do 

Core IT Operations 

  • Manage provisioning, setup, imaging, and configuration of Windows, macOS, and Linux systems (Linux-heavy for cloud and engineering systems). 
  • Administer O365, Azure AD, identity management, and general access controls. 
  • Oversee Intune, Apple Business Manager, and device enrollment workflows; troubleshoot MDM conflicts and deployment issues. 
  • Support compute-heavy environments and graphics-intensive software installations.  
  • Resolve day-to-day IT requests including password resets, software installs, hardware troubleshooting, and user support. 

Cloud, Compliance, and Security 

  • Support cloud security posture (identify, encryption, access control, monitoring.) 
  • Contribute to internal infrastructure planning as workloads scale. 
  • Assist with IT requirements tied to government contracts and compliance. 
  • Maintain documentation, IT SOPs, and systems diagrams to support compliance growth. 
  • Help build a scalable IT foundation as the company grows, contributing to long-term IT strategy. 

What You Bring 

Must-Have Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related fields. 
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role. 
  • Strong experience in Windows, Linux, and macOS environments (admin-level proficiency). 
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, and MDM workflows. 
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, VLANs. 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure. 
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and prioritize a high volume of requests. 
  • Willingness to work on-site in Columbia, MD, in a hybrid capacity. 
  • Responsible for participating in on-call IT operations, supported by both internal staff and our external vendor as needed. 
  • Meet Quidient, customer, and government security requirements, which may include, but are not limited to a background check, citizenship verification, and Criminal Justice Information Services verification. 
  • This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship. 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications: 

  • Experience in fast-paced or startup environments. 
  • Seasoned in HTML, CSS, or Web design is a major plus.
  • Certifications such as Cloud+, Security+, Network+, or Azure Administrator (AZ-104). 
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices, encryption, and identity management. 
  • Experience with NVIDIA GPU environments, driver installation, or workstation provisioning. 
  • Exposure to government or regulated IT environments. 
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python strongly preferred). 
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, SOC2, or NIST. 
  • Interest in contributing to engineering systems or learning deeper software / cloud infrastructure concepts. 
  • Experience in fast-paced or startup environments.

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000.
