Sales Development Lead
Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that's more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.
We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy and desirable to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We have built a next-generation, beautifully designed, AI-optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is available today. We also make it easy to purchase and adopt by managing all sales, rebates, permitting, and installation for our customers.
The Role
As the founding SDR Lead at Quilt, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Sales Development Program. This individual contributor role carries leadership responsibilities, requiring you to design and implement strategies that convert inbound and outbound leads into meaningful sales opportunities. You will handle inbound lead volume for both direct-to-consumer homeowners and strategic sales opportunities while also driving outbound prospecting efforts focused on new sales channels, such as builders. Your work will be instrumental in building foundational processes, messaging, and tools that will scale alongside our rapidly growing company.
This is a unique opportunity to lead from the front, contribute directly to revenue growth, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Sales Development Program, including playbooks, target account lists, messaging strategies, and outreach tactics.
- Manage and qualify inbound leads for homeowners, builders, and strategic partnerships, converting them into opportunities.
- Build and execute outbound prospecting strategies to generate new opportunities in emerging sales channels.
- Set appointments and manage lead qualification processes to maximize conversion rates and sales pipeline growth.
- Track and optimize performance against key KPIs, including Lead-to-Opportunity Conversion Rate, Appointment Set, and Outreach Activity.
- Explore, recommend, and implement tools to improve outreach efficiency and performance, with Salesforce as the foundational platform.
- Collaborate closely with the Quilt Advisor Team, Head of Sales, Revenue Operations Lead, and Marketing to align strategies and ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Provide feedback and insights to refine targeting, messaging, and engagement approaches across channels.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales development, business development, or a related role, with a strong track record of success in both inbound and outbound efforts.
- Expertise in Salesforce and comfort with adopting and implementing new tools to drive efficiency.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a knack for rapport-building and personalized outreach.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and the ability to think strategically about account targeting and engagement strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you understand your audience, listen and learn what they care about, and efficiently communicate via the means they prefer.
- Passion for Quilt’s mission to combat climate change and transition homes to sustainable heating solutions.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations teams.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Continuous learner with a strong aptitude for acquiring new skills and knowledge
- Ability to work independently and create a productive personal work schedule
- Willingness to work flexible hours or a shifted schedule to accommodate homeowner’s schedules (evenings and weekends).
- Experience using a CRM (ideally Salesforce), and maintaining a high degree of CRM hygiene
- Experience using the suite of Google Workspace tools (Gmail, slides, sheets, drive, etc.)
Preferred
- Experience building or scaling sales development programs.
- Familiarity with emerging sales technologies and methodologies.
- Knowledge of or experience in the HVAC, construction, or energy sectors.

Compensation
Quilt offers a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and top-tier benefits. The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
