Lead Software Engineer
The Opportunity:
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure server-side applications that power company's products and services. This position leads the engineering team, sets technical standards, ensures system performance, and aligns technology with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Leadership
- Lead and mentor engineers and cross-disciplinary teams.
- Set coding standards and enforce architecture best practices.
- Conduct design/code reviews and guide DevOps processes (CI/CD, reliability).
- Produce technical documentation and architectural designs.
- Backend Development
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Write and optimize complex SQL and NoSQL queries.
- Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable systems.
- Frontend Development
- Maintain front-end frameworks and standardized design systems.
- Develop reusable web components (for eCommerce & mobile).
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and product managers.
- Collaboration & Delivery
- Partner with product, DevOps, and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support the full SDLC (requirements → deployment).
- Promote cross-training and continuous improvement.
- Process & Quality
- Improve development processes and infrastructure.
- Define and execute testing strategies with QA support.
- Meet performance and SLA goals.
- Innovation & Problem Solving
- Research and evaluate new technologies.
- Propose frameworks and system enhancements.
- Lead special projects and resolve complex technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience and proven leadership background.
- Technical Skills
- 5+ years of OOP and REST API development.
- Strong in PHP (Symfony or Laravel).
- Expertise in MySQL (Aurora) and MongoDB (DocumentDB).
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular).
- Experience with ORMs (Doctrine or Eloquent).
- Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and JetBrains IDEs.
- Comfortable with Linux/Ubuntu and Windows-based environments.
- Bonus: JavaScript or Python experience.
Professional Skills:
- Experience with Scrum/Agile.
- Advanced database optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving.
- Strong ownership and accountability.
- Flexibility for meetings, trainings, and occasional overtime.
