Data Product Manager is responsible to lead the development and management of data-driven products and services throughout its lifecycle – conception through end-of-life. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between data science, data-engineering, and business needs to ensure that data products provide value and strategic solutions to key business needs. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, product management principles and good experience in building data-science solutions. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical & non-technical stakeholders is essential. As a Data Product Manager, you will work alongside our team of world class data engineers, data scientists & data analytics to achieve strategic business objectives. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data products of data engineering, data analytics and data science that cuts across multiple functions. 
  • Develop and actively maintain product roadmap to improve product in ways that have the biggest impact on company KPIs.
  • Work cross-functionally with business, functional product managers, data science, data-engineering to prioritize development work and achieve roadmaps across platforms.
  • Be the product owner of the data engineering platforms and machine learning platforms.
  • Be the product owner of the self-service reporting and analytics platform.
  • Be the scrum master (define stories and detailed specifications) in engineering sprints.
  • Coordinate the product development process & data-function reviews. 
  • Manage risks in execution and scrappily unblock team to reach goals
  • Execute build vs. buy decisions and scope building new features/functionality
  • Understand our existing 1P/3P platforms and work with respective teams to optimize them

 

Skills and Experience

  • Overall 6+ years of experience with at least 3 years in leading data-products with focus on data-science, A/B experiments, analytics & technology.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, science, business, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven track record of managing data-focused products from ideation through to launch and iteration.
  • Proven experience as a product manager in an e-commerce environment is an added plus.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion to answer Product/Engineering questions with data
  • Capable of tackling loosely defined problems
