Overview

Quince is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end production lifecycle of our jewelry category. The role requires strong experience in sourcing, production, vendor management, and supply chain optimization with a customer-first mindset. This position will play a critical role in ensuring efficient lead times, cost optimization, vendor performance, and seamless execution of both standard and custom orders.

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for creating great vendor experience, and driving initiatives with vendors shortening the lead time and ensuring vendors are delivering on time to keep our in stock high. You will report to the regional head of production and will work cross-functionally with our global-based sourcing team and logistics team. 

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Conduct end-to-end lead time assessments and implement initiatives to reduce production timelines, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop the capability and oversee daily order validation, selecting and releasing orders to primary or secondary vendors based on capacity.
  • Review vendor open order reports weekly, resolving issues causing delays and ensuring timely communication of delays with Customer Service.
  • Verify vendor portal order fulfillment on a regular basis for all Made-to-Order (MTO) items.
  • Manage vendor on-time delivery (OTD) metrics with the goal of achieving 90%+ OTD across all suppliers.
  • Manage lead times for MTOs around holiday factory closures, updating and adjusting timelines proactively.
  • Perform regular checks to ensure all lead times of active styles are accurate and updated in the ERP system (Product Catalog).
  • Coordinate closely with Planning and Vendors to align forecast accuracy and maintain inventory min/max levels to support shorter lead times.
  • Support the loose diamond program through stock management, inventory selection, and fulfillment.

Vendor & Supply Chain Management

  • Work closely with sourcing, inventory planning, and engineering teams to optimize production efficiency, data quality, and supply chain operations.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with vendors, ensuring compliance with Quince standards and delivering an excellent partner experience.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with vendor management to review strategy, performance, highlights, and areas for improvement.
  • Explore cost savings opportunities in production while ensuring efficient use of resources.

Customs & Specials

  • Develop and oversee the Customs & Specials production process in collaboration with merchandising, sourcing, and customer service.
  • Manage special and custom orders from approved concept to completion, including tracking, quality checks, and timely delivery.
  • Communicate customer specifications clearly with product development and customer service teams, ensuring custom pieces meet quality and brand standards.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues during the custom order process to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Competencies

Experience

  • 10+ years of sourcing, procurement, and production experience in the jewelry industry, with strong exposure to US-based online retailers (M2C).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with ability to work on and analyze large data sets, create reports, and use advanced functions for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with operations coordination or production role with ERP systems experience (NetSuite required; Spring Systems a plus).

Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of jewelry production processes (gold, diamonds, loose stones, MTO, and custom orders).
  • Familiarity with compliance, sustainability practices, and lean / JIT manufacturing.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong project management, organizational, and calendar discipline.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with external vendors.
  • Proficient in inventory management, order processing, and ERP tools.
  • Customer-centric mindset with ability to balance efficiency, cost savings, and brand enhancement.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
