THE ROLE

Associate Merchant, Home

We are seeking an Associate Merchant Home to join our growing team. The Associate Merchant role is responsible for delighting Quince’s growing customer base by expanding and managing a subset of the Home product assortment on Quince Canada. At Quince, we believe that everyone deserves access to high quality products at radically affordable prices.  We believe the marketplace for consumer products is inundated with too many options, and customers find product quality difficult to determine and yet frequently pay more for a variety of things that can be delivered at much lower prices.  

Our goal is to find the best products in the marketplace and connect the makers of these goods directly to the customers who want them. Quince has proven the consumer value proposition in the apparel and accessories categories, especially within the Home space and has built a loyal, repeat consumer base.  

We want to build on that value proposition and continue to scale the Home category in both existing and new product classes.  This merchant will be responsible for managing the assortment, revenue and margins, and overall growth trajectory of certain Home departments for the Canadian market.

Responsibilities

  • Own all end-to-end merchandising for a subset of Home, including building assortment, pricing, product launches, and overall performance.
  • Contribute to long-term planning by partnering with planning, site merchandising and marketing to grow a subset of the Home business 
  • Support delivery of Revenue targets, Product rating, Return Rate
  • Partner with the Sourcing Team to align quality, costs, and vendor execution for Canada
  • Work closely with Product Development, Sourcing and US Merchants  to develop and improve Home styles based on Customer Feedback from Ratings and Returns
  • Obsess about every aspect of our products (quality, price, etc.) to deliver a strong customer value proposition for Canadians 
  • Analyze data to drive decision-making, including sales velocity, margin, return rate, conversion, SKU productivity etc.
  • Developing a systematic, data-powered action strategy to drive product quality and business improvements using insights from ratings, reviews, and return rates

Qualifications

Required:

  • Role is based in Toronto, with 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) in office requirement
  • 3-5 years of retail merchandising experience in home, preferably with luxury expertise
  • Proven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
  • Product obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sources
  • Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the “science” and “art” of retail merchandising)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancement
  • Continuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated by working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team success

Preferred:

  • E-commerce experience and/or DTC experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.

Pay Range

$85,000 - $95,000 CAD
