Location & Remote Work for technology and remote-first roles
Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the Position
The Single Station Line is a platform, not a product. Our mission is to provide the core tools for QuintoAndar's operators, namely Salesforce, Twilio, and Magic Link. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will be a key leader in this transformation, building and owning the data products that form the "hidden fourth element" of our platform.
Your primary goal will be to lead the Data & AI team in delivering a reliable, scalable, and self-service data platform. This involves overseeing the core data ingestion, creating general-purpose KPIs, and laying the groundwork for future AI initiatives. You will be responsible for a critical part of QuintoAndar’s infrastructure, ensuring that data is correctly ingested, modeled, and made accessible for a wide range of analytical needs.
This is not a role focused on specific, one-off analyses. Instead, you'll focus on creating a robust data platform that empowers other teams to build their own specialized data pipelines and analytics. You will be instrumental in a large-scale project to migrate data from Zendesk to Salesforce, with a huge impact on our data assets.
Responsibilities of a Data Engineering Manager at QuintoAndar
- Lead a team: Be the sole leader of the Data & AI team, mentoring and managing a team of data engineers and analysts, and fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and technical excellence.
- Be a technical leader: Serve as a deep technical reference for your team, guiding discussions on modern data architecture, event-driven systems, and data modeling.
- Define the strategy: Take ownership of the team's strategic roadmap, aligning it with business priorities and setting clear expectations with stakeholders.
- Manage the data platform: Oversee the development and maintenance of core data ingestion pipelines and data models, ensuring reliability, scalability, and data quality.
- Build key data products: Lead the development of general-purpose data products, such as our "Data Starter Pack" with standard KPIs, to serve as a reference for the entire operations team.
- Improve data governance: Drive improvements in data governance, documentation, and lineage to build a scalable, well-organized data ecosystem.
- Hands-on, when needed: Be prepared to dive into the code and assist with complex technical challenges when necessary.
- Communicate effectively: Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from engineering to operations, to understand their needs and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
What we are looking for
- People leader: You recognize that people are the most important asset and have a strong track record of recruiting, mentoring, and managing data professionals.
- Technical expertise: You are a highly technical manager with a deep understanding of modern data stacks, event-driven architecture, and robust data pipeline design.
- Data modeling expert: You have extensive experience in dimensional data modeling (star schema or snowflake) and are proficient in SQL and Python.
- Comprehensive data knowledge: You understand the full data lifecycle, including architecture, lineage, governance, and privacy.
- Cloud fluency: You are fluent in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and/or GCP.
- Communication & Collaboration: You have excellent communication skills and can collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and Operations).
- Strategic thinking: You can deal with uncertainty, define a strategic roadmap, and connect technical work to business priorities.
- Experience in customer service contexts: You have a solid understanding of data challenges and opportunities within customer service environments, including BPO operations, and have worked with data from platforms like Salesforce and Twilio.
- Experience with AI for front and back-office services: You have a background in leveraging AI to enhance operational efficiency for customer-facing and internal operations.
- Fluency in English is mandatory for this position.
