Location & Remote Work for technology and remote-first roles
Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the Engineering Manager role at QuintoAndar

At QuintoAndar, Engineering Managers are more than people leaders, they are technical pillars and strategic business partners. You will bridge technical strategy with business goals, guiding architecture decisions to build scalable solutions for our next stage of hyper-growth. While you won't code day-to-day, your deep engineering expertise will be the anchor for your team's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Elevate Talent: Mentor and grow a top-tier engineering team. Raise the technical bar through continuous feedback, clear development plans, and a psychologically safe, inclusive environment.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Leverage your strong System Design and Architecture skills to dive into complex bottlenecks, actively unblock your team, and balance technical debt with feature delivery.
  • Act as a Strategic Partner: Take true ownership of your domain. Foster a healthy, constructive tension with Product, Design, and Data to define and execute a winning business strategy.
  • Champion Scalable Delivery: Drive technical initiatives focused on massive scalability, process automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster True Ownership: Cultivate a "You Build It, You Run It" culture where your team takes pride in owning the entire software lifecycle.

 

Requirements 

What we are looking for:

  • Solid Engineering Background: Extensive background in software engineering with strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing engineering teams, driving performance, and successfully developing people's careers.
  • Architectural Skills: Strong ability in System Design, with a track record of designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems and microservices.
  • Business Sense & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and strategically align with business goals. Advanced english is required.

You'll stand out if you:

  • Have Scale Experience: Experience working in high-growth startups, preparing systems for massive scale, or managing high-traffic distributed systems.
  • Are "AI-Curious" or Experienced: Have an interest in or experience with integrating AI models, crawlers, or automation tools to solve complex operational problems.
  • Are a Talent Magnet: Passion for recruiting, interviewing, and building diverse, high-performing teams.
