Lisbon Tech Hub
In 2022, QuintoAndar proudly opened its first European tech hub in Lisbon, marking a significant milestone in our global expansion.

About the role:
Conversational AI Platform & CX Chatbot teams:
We’re looking for talented engineer leaders to join our Conversational Platform & CX Chatbot teams! These teams focus on developing a new conversational, Gen AI-based, platform to support different customer-facing chatbots, and also, to develop a new Customer Support Chatbot, using top-notch technologies, by harnessing LLMs (Large Language Models) with a multi-agent architecture.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Interest in LLM-based multi-agent systems and frameworks (e.g, Langgraph, CrewAi).
- Experience in developing chatbot platforms and conversational AI solutions.
- A passion for creating user-focused, intelligent, and efficient customer interaction tools.

Technical Lead Manager (TLM) at QuintoAndar:
At QuintoAndar, the Technical Lead Manager (TLM) role is designed for Senior+ Software Engineers who aspire to balance technical leadership with people management. TLMs play a critical role in defining technical strategies, driving high-quality implementation, and supporting their team members' growth and priorities. The position requires a robust technical background paired with a genuine passion for mentoring and managing people.
Unlike traditional management roles, TLMs typically oversee a smaller number of direct reports and have a more focused scope of management. However, they remain integral to the technical career path, offering opportunities to advance toward Staff+ engineering roles or transition into broader management responsibilities with a larger team and expanded leadership duties.
This role is ideal for candidates who excel in both hands-on technical work and guiding teams to achieve peak performance.
Responsibilities as TLM:
- Lead the technical implementation of projects, solving complex challenges, and delivering scalable, maintainable, and efficient solutions.
- Grow, coach, and manage a team of 2–5 software engineers, supporting their career development and performance.
- Define and uphold an excellent engineering culture while guiding the design and execution of technical solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to drive alignment, balance trade-offs, and ensure timely project delivery
Additional Expectations:
- Act as a technical reference and leader for your team.
- Contribute directly to code, code review, and architecture discussion, addressing key technical challenges.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to define and execute a winning strategy.
- Recruit and develop exceptional talent, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Requirements:
- Programming & Databases: Fluency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin) and experience with databases or search engines
- Scalable Systems: Proven ability to design, build, and maintain large, scalable systems/apps, including distributed systems and RESTful APIs.
- Best Practices: Deep understanding of software maintainability, team productivity, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience: 5+ years in software development, delivering solutions to complex problems.
- Languages: Professional fluency in English (Portuguese is a plus).
You'll Stand Out If You Have:
- Expertise in NLP, LLMs, multi-agent applications, and agentic frameworks (Langgraph, CrewAI)
- Hands-on experience with AWS, containerization, and maintaining high-availability services.
- A history of leading cross-team collaborations, mentoring engineers, and managing complex projects.
- A proven record of building successful products or platforms for large-scale, distributed systems.
- Strong communication and people management skills, with a passion for inspiring high-performing teams
