Location & Remote Work

Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the team

Our mission is to expand the capacity, leverage, and reach of corporate functions at QuintoAndar – such as People and Legal – through software we engineer and data we own. We embed with corporate teams to discover the real problem, then design and build the products that solve it: full applications, the integrations that connect them, and the automation of manual work. We also own and govern the data products these functions need to operate, decide, and report.

 

Requirements

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is excited about end-to-end ownership – designing, building, shipping, and operating products that live inside the day-to-day of corporate teams. You will work close to non-technical stakeholders, ship full-stack code, and integrate third-party systems.

What we are looking for:

  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, or Python;
  • Comfortable taking a product end-to-end – backend services, integrations, and the user-facing pieces that close the loop;
  • Strong understanding of database design and evolution;
  • Skilled in creating RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems (SaaS platforms, internal services, etc.);
  • Experience designing and evolving software architecture from the ground up;
  • Experience with tools and practices for software monitoring, observability, and performance tracking;
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including version control, testing, and deployment automation, code reviews, and design documentation;
  • Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders – understanding their workflow, scoping the right solution, and shipping it with them;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and advanced English - we usually use English to write our code, documentation, tools, reference materials and eventually talk to partners and co-workers from other countries.

You'll stand out if you:

  • Have shipped integrations across SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, HRIS, ticketing tools, etc.);
  • Have experience embedding with non-engineering teams (People, Legal, Finance) to discover and ship together;
  • Have experience mentoring a team of software engineers;
  • Have experience with cloud service platforms and their services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc);
  • Know how modern CI/CD works;
  • Have some knowledge on containers and container-orchestration (eg. Kubernetes);
  • Understand that the work is never done; we are always taking care and evolving our services.
