Senior Manager of Product Marketing

We are a fast-growing “startup”-turned-grownup looking for a Senior Manager of Product Marketing. This is a highly motivated individual with a passion for innovation, new product development, in market execution, and continuous improvement to lead product marketing for quip. 

This is a unique opportunity to shape strategy that drives in-market success as well as our  innovation pipeline and product development plans within a dynamic, fast-growing marketing organization. 

The ideal candidate has the ability to be highly executional and look holistically at commercial planning, but will also think strategically about both short-and long-term opportunities for the business. This person understands the value of relationship-building and cross-team influence to drive results, and must possess a keen marketing / consumer curiosity, and the strong leadership skills to pursue each project with enthusiasm and passion.

The candidate must also possess very strong project management skills, a facility with consumer insights approaches, the ability to grasp regulatory and IP requirements, an understanding of the omni-channel complexity for product launches and how retailer timelines and decisions come into play.

Base Salary: $150-165K

This range represents anticipated base salary range for this position, in addition to competitive benefits and equity (as applicable). We carefully assess and consider several factors with each candidate, including location, role-related knowledge, experience and skills. Compensation may vary based on these considerations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead strategy through cross-functional team to identify opportunities for new innovation and product development for both hardware and consumable products. 
  •  Develop and implement  product marketing messaging and market requirements through hardware development process and creative development process.  
  • Responsible for ensuring quip is addressing opportunities for unmet consumer needs with oral care products and services, category trends and distribution opportunities.
  • Manage a holistic product development strategic plan to capitalize on opportunities and gain cross-company buy-in to bring developments to market. 
  • Ensure the team is engaging in best practices related to marketing requirements documentation and ensuring that constraints are researched, corroborated, and observed and updated through development.
  • Collaborate with broader marketing team and channel teams  to infuse insights from the development process into the creation of go-to-market plans to launch new innovation across DTC and retail, including messaging frameworks, packaging design, sell-in decks, and campaign creative briefs.
  • Lead the marketing aspects of end to end project management for new product commercialization; defining the brand/product strategy at the front end of the process and leading the Go-to-Market steps in coordination with the Product development project manager
  • Monitor existing product performance and feedback from consumers on product experience; develop research plans and test & learn initiatives to gain insights into how to continuously improve existing portfolio products. 
  • Make recommendations on product categories and specific product improvements needed based on consumer feedback.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-7+ years experience in brand marketing, innovation, integrated marketing or product marketing with proven results. Experience with innovation pipeline development and consumer research & insights preferred. 2+ years in a managerial role requiring strong cross-functional working relationships..
  • Creative, self-directed and resourceful marketer with a desire to establish a best-in-class program for quip. 
  • Excellent relationship-building, verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have strong project management skills -- ability to be strategic and  execute.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional groups at a dynamic company.
  • Keen awareness of process and what needs to happen when in order to effectively manage many moving parts of equal importance under tight deadlines. 
  • Research and quantitative skills to analyze performance data, uncover insights, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to work and achieve success in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
