In this role, you’ll shape and scale the data powering our Inpatient solution, transforming messy EHR data into real-time insights that help reduce length of stay, unblock discharges, and improve patient flow across hospitals.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a tangible impact on healthcare delivery by building scalable, intelligent data systems.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development & Architecture
-
Build and maintain reliable, high-quality pipelines that ingest and process healthcare data from hospital EHR systems.
-
Develop near real-time pipelines that power Inpatient product use cases.
-
Contribute to the design and evolution of our medallion architecture and unified data model.
Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Partner with Product, Clinical, and Engineering teams to translate user needs into scalable data models and transformation pipelines.
-
Maintain and enhance event-based architecture and streaming data systems.
-
Support client implementations and team goals through hands-on data engineering (e.g., analytics engineering, logic support).
Data Modeling & Decision Support
-
Work with Data Scientists and Decision Engineers to operationalize feature pipelines and decision logic.
-
Apply strong data intuition to identify patterns, anomalies, and key insights across complex healthcare datasets.
Key Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong focus on SQL and Python in production environments (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions).
-
Proficient in data warehousing and pipeline development on platforms like AWS, Snowflake, and/or Databricks.
-
Experience with dbt (data build tool) and modern data practices.
-
Strong cross-functional communication skills; ability to align technical and clinical/product priorities.
-
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, understand real-world data needs, and design context-aware data solutions.
-
Deep analytical skills and an innate curiosity about the relationships and patterns behind the data.
Nice to Have
-
Experience using AWS Glue or other AWS services in production environments.
-
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
-
Experience supporting modern BI tools (especially Sigma) and analytics engineering workflows (metrics, semantic layer).
-
Background working with AI/ML teams to operationalize data.
-
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
-
Experience working with healthcare data and understanding of HIPAA requirements.
