Role Overview

RA Capital is seeking a Business Systems Analyst, Scientific & Venture Systems to support our Raven and Venture teams. Reporting to the Technology Business Partner, Raven and Venture, you will work with scientists, company builders, and business stakeholders to translate research and operational workflows into practical technology solutions.

This hands-on role combines business analysis, scientific platform administration, and software implementation. You will configure and administer scientific systems, develop programmatic integrations, and automate workflows, owning solutions from discovery through deployment and ongoing support. The ideal candidate combines scientific or clinical workflow knowledge with practical technical skills, learns quickly, and enjoys a broad mix of scientific platform work, business process improvement, and day-to-day systems support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with scientists and business stakeholders to map current and future workflows, gather requirements, and translate needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, and system configurations.
  • Administer business and scientific systems, including CDD Vault (LIMS/ELN), managing configurations, permissions, templates, access, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Configure and maintain registration tables and workflows supporting compound registration, sample management, and reagent management.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and API integrations to connect systems and automate workflows; use SQL to query and validate data.
  • Deploy and manage Notion Teamspaces, project templates, and integrations supporting RAven projects through incorporation.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while independently reviewing, testing, and validating generated code and recommendations.
  • Support vendor evaluation and implementation, coordinate technical partners, and troubleshoot issues across the systems you configure and support.
  • Plan and conduct system and user acceptance testing, maintain documentation and user guides, and train users through rollout and adoption.
  • Manage smaller projects and workstreams, communicating scope, milestones, dependencies, and risks while identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, computer science, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solutions engineering, scientific software implementation, business systems analysis, or a related role, ideally with a life sciences software provider or within a biotech organization.
  • Hands-on experience supporting, configuring, and administering scientific or clinical data management platforms (e.g. LIMS, Electronic Data Capture (EDC)), in life sciences, biotech, or health tech.
  • Practical programming experience, including the ability to independently read, write, debug, test, and validate code and work with REST APIs.
  • Foundational SQL skills, including joins, parameterized queries, and data validation.
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot AI-generated code using independent programming knowledge and judgment.
  • Experience working directly with scientific/clinical users or customers to learn research workflows quickly and translate their needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong requirements-gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues, sound judgment, and a willingness to raise questions and collaborate when requirements or solutions are uncertain.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid schedule in our Boston office.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. We cannot provide visa sponsorship, visa transfers, or sponsorship for practical training programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct administration or implementation experience with CDD Vault, Benchling, Revvity Signals, or similar scientific platforms.
  • Experience implementing software across multiple customers, research teams, or organizations.
  • Experience configuring Notion workspaces, teamspaces, templates, integrations, and automations.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex, or integration and automation platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data platforms or cloud environments such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Confluence, Smartsheet, or Jira, and exposure to Agile ways of working.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
