About the Job:
We’re hiring a Software Engineer II to design, build, and maintain high-quality features for our Foothold Care Management (FCM) platform. In this role, you’ll contribute to modern web applications and REST APIs, write clean and maintainable code, and collaborate closely with your team to deliver secure and reliable solutions that support care managers and provider networks. You’ll take ownership of your work across its full lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and support. You will also be learning from peers and helping improve our shared tools, processes, and codebase.
FCM in one line: Foothold Care Management (FCM) is a configurable care coordination and case management platform that supports Health Home billing workflows, Community Health Worker (CHW) activity tracking, and FHIR-based integrations with referral systems.
Who you are:
- Years of experience: Approximately 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably building modern web applications.
- Hard requirements (must-have):
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks for building responsive, maintainable front-end applications.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or MySQL).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, version control (Git), and common software development practices.
- Commitment to writing clean, testable, and maintainable code that can be easily understood and extended by others.
- Additional nice-to-have skills/tools:
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or another MVC framework.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud-based environments.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or agile software development.
- Interest in healthcare, care coordination, or social service technology domains.
What you’ll be responsible for:
You will be focused on our FCM (Foothold Care Management) product.
- Design & Build: Write clear, maintainable code for web applications and APIs that support care managers and provider networks.
- Own Your Work: Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of your code—from development and testing to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with your teammates, Product, and QA to refine requirements, plan sprints, and deliver high-quality, reliable features.
- Ensure Quality: Participate in code reviews, follow established standards, and help maintain a clean, well-structured, and test-covered codebase.
- Support Operations: Participate in on-call rotations and assist with deployments, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
- Contribute to Improvement: Suggest and implement small improvements to tools, processes, or testing that enhance the development experience.
- Learn & Grow: Seek mentorship and learning opportunities to deepen your technical expertise and contribute increasingly to team goals.

- Compensation: $105,000 - $125,000
